উ: সাধারণত who, what, whom, when ইত্যাদি wh সম্বলিত word দ্বারা প্রশ্ন বোধক বাক্যকে Wh word/ Question বলে ।

Condition কথাটির অর্থ হচ্ছে শর্ত....
যে সকল sentence কোন condition বা শর্ত প্রকাশ করে, সেগুলোকে conditional sentence বলে। conditional sentence এর যে clause বা অংশটি দ্বারা condition বা শর্তটি প্রকাশিত হয় তার আগে if বসে।

Conditional Sentence কে শর্তের
কাজটি ঘটার সম্ভাব্যতার উপর ভিত্তি করে
তিন ভাগে ভাগ করা যায়।
1. 1st conditional sentence.
2. 2nd conditional sentence.
3. 3rd conditional sentence.

1. 1st conditional sentence:
যে সকল Conditional Sentence এ if-clause এর কাজটি ঘটা পুরোপুরি সম্ভব সেগুলোকে 1st conditional sentence বলা হয়।
গঠন:
a) If + present + future ( Certainly বা নিশ্চয়তা বুঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।)
যেমনঃ If you come, I shall go

b) If +present +may/might/
can( may/might সম্ভাবনা/ অনুমতি এবং can সামর্থ বুঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।)
যেমনঃ If You like, you may come in
If I get the opportunity, I can prove myself fit.

c) If + present+ present (অভ্যাসগত কর্ম, স্বয়ংক্রিয় ফলাফল বা বিজ্ঞানসম্মত সত্য প্রকাশ করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।)
যেমনঃ If man takes poison, he dies

d) If+ present +must ( obligation বা বাধ্যবাধকতা প্রকাশ করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।)
যেমনঃ If you want to succeed, you must work hard.

2. 2nd conditional Sentence:
যে সকল Conditional Sentence এর if-clause এর কাজটি ঘটা সম্ভব নয় বা বাস্তব তথ্যের বিরোধী সেগুলোকে 2nd conditional sentence বলে। এ ধরনের sentence এ if-clause এর 'be verb' সর্বদা were হয়।
গঠন:
a) If + past + should / would ---Certainly বা নিশ্চয়তা অর্থে এই sentence ব্যবহৃত হয়। তবে উচিৎ অর্থ প্রকাশ করে বিধায় সাধারণত should কে avoid করা হয়।
যেমনঃ If I were you, I would kill him

b) If+ past + might----- possibility বা সম্ভাবনা বুঝাতে এই structure টি ব্যবহৃত হয়।
যেমনঃ If I worked hard in my field, I might get a good harvest.

c) If + past+ could------ Ability বা সামর্থ বুঝাতে এটি ব্যবহৃত হয়।
যেমনঃ If you worked hard, you could succeed.

3. 3rd Conditional Sentence:
কিছু কিছু Conditional Sentence এর if-clause টি এমন শর্ত প্রকাশ করে যা অতীতকালে ঘটার কথা ছিলো। কিন্তু সে শর্ত অতীতকালে পূরণ হয়নি বলে এখন আর পূরণ করা সম্ভব নয়। এরূপ conditional sentence কে 3rd conditional sentence বলে।
গঠন:
If +pas perfect+ perfect conditional (would/could / might + have +v.p.p.)
যেমনঃ If I had known that you were in the library, I would have met you.
